Bear in mind that some people may not like animals in general. If you have Fido moving in with you, be ready to address issues your neighbors might have concerning your pet. Nose around and check if your neighbors have pets of their own. Some people can be tormented by incessant yapping and barking; while others may complain about animals polluting the immediate environment. Some may also worry about large breed dogs getting loose with a potential for attacking residents, especially small children.

Inquire from the homeowner’s association for any policies or regulations concerning pet ownership in your neighborhood. Talk with your dog’s veterinarian or trainer for some tips (and tricks) to correct unacceptable behaviors in your pet. Lastly, if you intend to walk your dog, be sure to have a paper bag handy so you can conveniently pick after his poop should he accidentally drop it at your neighbor’s newly manicured lawn.

1.Use safety gates to prevent your dog from entering areas of the house where he is not allowed access ( and of course, fewer space covered, fewer mess ).

2. Give him his own chew toy so he doesn’t make one out of your furniture.

3. Let him drink from a water feeder ( as opposed to a water bowl) if he is fond of making puddles on the floor.

4. If your dog loves making stains on the carpet, blot as much urine on the surface, then spray white vinegar on it. Your dog will think twice before peeing in the same spot.

5. To remove dog smell inside the house, sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and vacuum away.
(to be continued)
