More Home Price Drops Coming

This is really bad news for the housing industry that has been waiting for the economy to turn around, a signal that they can again get back onto their feet. As of last estimates, almost 65% of all homes form most states are expected to see another round of price drops, even with low home values that exists today. This isn’t what they were expecting for there have been slight movements in the past, a good sign supposedly but the economy is dragging down any gains they might have gained. Median home prices are on the slow rise but as said, these fluctuations are mere bumps that immediately dip after gains. Some blame the job market, some blame economics but whatever reason these fluctuations may be based on, they’d better not last long.

As people fall victim to the recession, many fall into foreclosure forced form their homes and out onto the streets to seek other housing opportunities. Vacancies are becoming a huge problem for property owners due to the fact they are in for a long wait for with more jobs being lost each and every day, it’s hard to come by new tenants. Some property owners settle for lower rental rates just to keep old tenants and to get new ones. The problem they face is that like any property, vacant or not, all need maintenance. These and many other costs such as taxes are normally not a problem but having a huge percentage of your units in an apartment complex vacant is a sure way to get into financial trouble. Abandoned homes continue to pose security as well as health problems, with people who used to live in them running off to escape foreclosure, some even trashing the home before moving out or resorting to arson. The housing market is truly in shambles and hopefully, long and painful lessons have been learned enough to prevent a recurrence of these incidents, that has touched the lives of millions.

There is only so much that you can do to protect your home and with the neighborhood being one of total diversity where people from different races and walks of life, often put together making up your particular neighborhood even the most expensive security systems cannot cover all the bases and in today’s high crime situation what more can you do to keep you and your family safe from the dangers that lurk just outside the door.
Pretty much nothing but if you’d want to know then you neighbors are some of your best allies in the fight against the many dangers in and around the neighborhood. People you don’t even know who may have a thing or two about what’s wrong and what’s right and what you and they can improve upon. From neighborhood watches to joint security efforts such as whistles that all members of your group have to warn others of dangers that will often work if you are united as one voice. Keeping tabs with police and other law enforcement agencies to keep your neighborhood in their sights allowing cooperation. many people fail to realize that citizens have the same legal capacity to enforce the law with the main difference of the police being mandated. The police are considered public servants so they are under civilian control, under the jurisdiction of the Mayor and other publicly elected officials.
