Being the ideal neigbor
It’s not enough to live in the ideal neighborhood–your neighbor’s perception of you also matters in day-to-day living. Moving into a new area is always stressful and adjusting to the environment takes time, but these are not reasons to keep to yourself. Showing up at the neighbor’s doorstep with a gift and a smile may sound old-fashioned, but this is still appreciated in most places. It might be too early for an invitation to dinner, so look for other ways of reaching out. Find out how you can be active in the community and what organizations you could devote your time and energy to. Making your stay pleasant for everyone is part of being an ideal neighbor.
