Extreme Home Security

Used on secured facilities, it goes beyond the strength of tempered glass with the addition of a very tough layer/s of plastic that makes it almost impossible to break through. Almost is the term used for no glass can withstand a determined thief forever, but it will make it a bit difficult. Glass is the most obvious weak point in any home and with people opting for more to allow more light into the home, the higher the risk of someone using that very glass as an entryway to your home. The hard part is that it is quite expensive, so reserve it to the most vulnerable parts of the home only and opt for grilles on the other windows such as on the second floor where you may not mind the intrusive nature of all that metal.
Just the same, in the most break-in prone areas, have some glass breakage sensors hooked up to your alarm so you get notice of someone trying to get into your home, alerting you to such activity allowing you to take the appropriate action. Have hooking deadbolts on doors and secure them on the hinge side of they open outwards with the hinge pins facing outwards. They are installed along the frame of the door where the jamb and door edge meets preventing the doors from being lifted even with the hinge pins taken out. Windows should also be locked so even if you leave them ajar, they cannot easily be opened from the outside, letting air in but the thieves out.
