Abandoned Homes Risky

forgottenSome major cities are considering closing off part of their city’s streets due to high risk properties that have been abandoned and left to decay for sometime. Criminal elements are using them for refuge and hazards abound such as fire and other health issues. Used as drug dens and lounges, drug users are leaving their trash which poses health risks to other members of the community who have managed to keep their homes in spite of the recession. Such is the problem that the only solution the city sees is to close these city sections off to normal pedestrian and road traffic to prevent exposure to risky environments.
Such areas exist in Detroit Michigan where the city is now in the process of closing off roads and whole city blocks to prevent innocent people from getting exposed to unnecessary risks. Gangs have also been increasing in numbers as young people who fail to find employment are turning to these criminal elements for their income, whatever the cost.
