Assessing your home for weak spots
Many burglars are actually amateurs simply looking for a weak spot in your home. They scope the place out a bit, get to know your routine, and the proceed to the actual robbery.
One of the things to look out for are shrubbery that might serve as good cover for a burglar. Especially those near windows and doors, shrubbery should be trimmed so that a burglar cannot have ample cover and can be easily seen by others.
